  • The middle school curriculum at Parkway Christian Academy is designed to provide a strong academic foundation while integrating a biblical worldview into every subject. Rooted in the school’s mission, each course—whether Bible, math, ELA, science, or history—reinforces the truth of God’s Word, helping students develop critical thinking skills and a Christ-centered perspective. PCA follows a traditional, college-prep program that prepares students for future academic success while also offering career readiness opportunities. With a balance of rigorous academics, engaging electives, and spiritual growth, PCA ensures that students are equipped for both high school and lifelong learning. The middle school curriculum incorporates materials from BJU Press and Positive Action for Christ.

  • Middle school Bible courses guide students in developing a biblical worldview and applying Scripture to their daily lives. Students learn to think critically about life’s big questions and evaluate other worldviews through a biblical lens. Coursework takes students on a journey through the entire Bible, helping them understand its overarching narrative and historical context. Students focus on biblical wisdom, character development, and practical application, covering topics such as integrity, humility, and leadership.

  • Middle school math courses build a strong foundation in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving. Students explore whole numbers, decimals, fractions, geometry, and introductory algebra, applying biblical principles to their learning. The curriculum deepens their understanding of number sense, proportions, geometry, and statistics through real-world applications. By 8th grade, students transition to pre-algebra, preparing them for higher-level mathematics by mastering equations, inequalities, and geometric concepts while recognizing the order and design of mathematics as a reflection of God’s creation.

  • ELA courses emphasize reading, writing, grammar, and communication skills within a Christian worldview. Students engage with a variety of literary genres and develop their writing abilities. The curriculum strengthens composition skills through narrative, persuasive, and expository writing while reinforcing grammar fundamentals. In addition, students refine their writing techniques, grammar proficiency, and analytical skills, encouraging them to communicate effectively and ethically in academic and real-world settings.

  • Middle school science courses foster curiosity and critical thinking through hands-on exploration of God’s creation. In 6th grade, students explore topics such as atomic structure, motion, weather, and genetics, emphasizing scientific inquiry from a biblical perspective. The 7th-grade curriculum examines living organisms, cell theory, biomes, and human biology, highlighting God’s design in nature. In 8th grade, students study plate tectonics, weather patterns, astronomy, and natural resources, helping them appreciate God’s sovereignty in the natural world.

  • History courses help students analyze past events through a biblical lens. In 6th grade, students study ancient civilizations across Asia, Africa, and Europe, connecting historical events to biblical narratives. The 7th-grade curriculum examines the development of world cultures, the impact of geography, and major world religions in contrast to Christianity. In 8th grade, students engage in an in-depth study of American history, guiding them to understand the nation’s foundation and apply historical knowledge to their role as Christian citizens.

  • Middle school electives offer opportunities for enrichment in various disciplines. Students can explore creativity through Art, develop problem-solving skills in STEM, and build musical talents in Band or Choir. Physical Education emphasizes fitness and healthy living, while health courses provide a biblical perspective on wellness. These electives encourage students to develop their interests, talents, and teamwork skills in a Christ-centered learning environment. Courses are offered based on student interest and availability.
